Some of life's most important lessons aren't taught in a classroom.
Earth School turns ideas from positive psychology into practical tools people can use every day, starting with children.
To create thoughtful, evidence-informed tools that help people understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, build meaningful relationships and flourish.
A world where the skills to live well are nurtured as intentionally as the knowledge we acquire, throughout childhood and every stage of life.
We believe understanding ourselves, connecting with others, building resilience and a positive mindset, and finding meaning are skills worth developing throughout life.
Psychology offers important knowledge about wellbeing and flourishing. Earth School translates relevant ideas into tools people can understand, explore and use in everyday life.
Science informs what we create. Creativity and thoughtful design shape how people experience it. Practice helps bring those ideas into everyday life.
Earth School is for people at varying ages and stages of life. Our first tool is for children. Over time, we hope to create more tools, such as journals, games and activities, on themes like identity, life transitions, parenthood, grief and loss, resilience, and deep human connection, including bridging the gap between generations.
The common thread is helping people deepen their relationship with themselves, with others and with the lives they are living.
Hi, I'm Haina.
Education has always been a big part of my life. My mother started a school when I was young, and I quite literally grew up alongside it. As I moved through the years, the school grew with me.
I was fortunate to receive an incredible education, eventually studying economics at the University of Pennsylvania, where I discovered positive psychology. I was fascinated by the science of what helps people flourish, build meaningful relationships and navigate life's challenges.
But the more I learnt, and the more life I experienced, the more I began to wonder why we weren't giving these skills the same attention we give traditional academic subjects.
Over the years, life has taught me that we don't always get to choose what happens to us. But the perspectives we develop, the habits we practise and the relationships we nurture can make a meaningful difference to how we meet those moments.
That belief became the foundation of Earth School.
I wanted to take ideas I've found meaningful, bring together research and creativity, and turn them into thoughtful, practical tools that people could use in everyday life.
We're starting with children because I believe these are things worth learning early. But they're also things we never really stop learning.
